Last week, Denver running backs Knowshon Moreno and Correl Buckhalter were injured in practice, necessitating the signing of 300lb “running back” Lendale White. Moreno tweaked his hamstring and hopefully it will not keep him from starting the regular season as he is going to be a big weapon for the offense (or needs to be if Denver is to have success).
Yesterday, arguably Denver’s best defensive player, Elvis Dumervil, was injured. Sources say that he has a torn pectoral muscle, which will sideline him indefinitely. If that turns out to be accurate, it could be another long year for my Broncos.
Update: NFL Live is reporting as I type this that Dumervil is expected to miss four months, which is essentially the whole season. I am bummed.
